The Suha Project is located in the Dorna Mountains, Suceava County, on the Suha Mare River and Suha Mica River. Both the Suha Mare River and the Suha Mica River flow east toward the Moldova River.

The project consists of a run-of-river hydroelectric system comprised of six small hydroelectric plants, four located on the Suha Mare River and two on the Suha Mica River. There are six intakes and six powerhouses wih a total installed capacity of 2.02 MW.
The Suha 3 generating plant, is a 565 kW plant that draws flow from a third intake located downstream of Suha 2 and has a 6.40 km buried penstock and a concrete powerhouse with a Francis – Horizontal turbine. The Suha 4 generating plant is the last located on Suha Mare River, and is a 249 kW plant that draws flow from a fourth intake located downstream of Suha 3 and has a 4.53 km buried penstock and a concrete powerhouse with a Francis – Horizontal turbine. The Suha 5 generating plant is a 563 kW plant that draws flow from a intake located on Suha Mica River, has a 7.37 km buried penstock and a concrete powerhouse with a Francis – Horizontal turbine. The Suha 6 generating plant is a 122 kW plant that draws flow from a second intake located downstream of Suha 5, has a 2.59 km buried penstock and a concrete powerhouse with a 4-jet vertical axis Pelton turbine. The combined installed capacity of the Suha plants is 2.02 MW. The total power generated by these plants is estimated to be 5,700 MWh per year. The Suha Project is expected to receive 2 GCs per MWh supplied into the grid, with no GCs restricted from trading.Prior to TEP’s acquisition of Suha, the previous owner refurbished the Suha project with a total capital investment of approximately €2.7 million. The refurbishment was part of a privatization plan of the former state hydroelectric company Hidroelectrica SA. The refurbishment consisted of replacing the turbines, generators, transformers and installing an updated SCADA System. Major civil works were also undertaken as needed to refurbish and reinforce the diversion weirs, intakes and descending channels.
